Carve & Print Your Own Stamps

By WholeLook

Carve a bold design into soft rubber, then print a small set of cards.

AI-generated cheerful animals making carve & print your own stamps in a colourful craft setting

For: Adults only

Activity steps

  1. Transfer a simple design

Draw one bold shape on tracing paper, avoiding small lettering. Rub the pencil image onto the rubber so the stamp prints in the intended direction. Shade the areas you want to remain raised.

  2. Set the cutting position

Place the block on a bench hook or non-slip support. Demonstrate shallow cuts away from the body and supporting hand. Only adults use the cutters; pause if the block slips or the blade needs force.

  3. Carve and test

Remove small slivers around the raised design. Ink lightly and test on scrap paper, then trim only the areas that need clearing. Clean away rubber crumbs before re-inking.

  4. Print the cards

Press straight down without rocking on four cards. Let ink dry flat, clean tools as directed and collect all blades and offcuts before packing.

Host tip: Keep the design simple and provide one supported carving station per person. Never carve toward your fingers.

Choose materials suitable for everyone’s age. Supervise children with scissors, needles and small parts. Keep craft supplies separate from food.
