Activity steps

  1. Plan the pair

    Set out two bookmark blanks and eight small pressed flowers per guest. Check that blanks fit the sleeves before decorating. Arrange flowers with tweezers, keeping the edges and sleeve opening clear.

  2. Fix the flowers

    Use tiny dots of PVA glue behind petals and stems. Press gently with a scrap of paper. Add a name or short message with a marker, without drawing across the flowers.

  3. Allow the glue to dry

    Keep bookmarks flat until the adhesive is completely dry. Slide each carefully into its sleeve; do not trap damp glue or fresh flowers inside.

  4. Add tassels

    Loop a tassel through the sleeve’s hole, check that the bookmark lies flat, and take home the pair. Save unused flowers between sheets of dry paper.

Host tip: Press flowers weeks ahead or buy fully pressed flowers. The pressing process is not part of this 45-minute session.
