Backyard beanbag games
Pass a beanbag, aim at a nearby target and invent a team mission where every person contributes.

Activity steps
- Set up small crews,Thread and hang two rainbow bunting strands at the sheltered water station, clear of game lanes and the chalk route. Make groups of up to four. Give each group four soft beanbags and one stable open basket. Mark one starting place per guest with a floor spot, testing the grip first. Keep groups well apart; stagger turns if the room is small. Set an existing phone timer for short rounds.
- Pass the team signal,Stand or sit in a small circle and pass one beanbag from person to person. Try a round using everyone’s name, then a round reversing direction on the leader’s cue. A bag on the floor simply starts another turn; nobody is out.
- Aim for a shared target,Place the basket a short comfortable distance away. One guest at a time makes a gentle underarm toss toward the empty target, choosing a closer position if needed. After all four bags are used and throwing has stopped, a helper collects them. Try to improve the team’s own result without comparing groups.
- Invent one final mission,Give each guest one blank card and share markers among six. Draw or write a gentle challenge, such as passing with a funny greeting or balancing a bag on an open palm while seated. The adult checks ideas before the group chooses one. End by naming something each teammate contributed.
Keep rounds short and allow a helper, a closer target or a seated turn. For 24 guests, plan six small groups and enough space and adults, or add time for staggered rounds.
