Make mini pizzas

Add sauce, cheese and vegetables to a ready-made base, then let the grown-up cook while the little chefs name their creations.

Children add cheese and vegetable toppings to small ready-made pizza bases while an adult supervises.

Activity steps

  1. Prepare a clean pizza station,Cover each table of six with one red-checkered cover. Clean and reset it between paper menus and pizza preparation; keep plastic away from hot trays. An adult checks oven and baking-sheet capacity, preheats according to the ready-made base package, and sets a timer. Clear craft supplies, clean the covered table and wash hands. Give each guest a clean plate, base and teaspoon. For each group of six, put small amounts of sauce, cheese and ready-to-eat vegetables into three bowls, with separate serving spoons for cheese and vegetables. Refill from chilled supplies as needed.
  2. Build a small pizza,Spread about 40 g of sauce on each base with the personal teaspoon. Add about 50 g of shredded cheese and 40 g of suitable bite-size vegetable toppings, using the shared serving spoons without touching mouths. Keep toppings in a thin layer and leave the edge clear. An adult keeps track of each pizza and any dietary alternatives.
  3. Let the adult handle the baking,The adult transfers pizzas onto suitable oven-safe sheets and bakes them exactly as the chosen base and topping instructions require. Plan one tray per four bases but confirm the actual fit, and cook in batches when needed. Children stay at the party table; no paper labels go into the oven. The 40-minute activity estimate may need extra time for several batches.
  4. Cool, serve and clear,Using dry oven mitts, the adult puts hot trays on heat-safe racks outside children’s reach. Allow the pizzas to cool to a comfortable eating temperature, then use a heat-safe food spatula to put each onto its guest’s clean plate. Serve with napkins. Refrigerate perishable leftovers promptly, within two hours, and use the cleanup cloths after hot equipment is safe to handle.

Use fully baked mini bases and ready-to-eat toppings so guests handle no raw dough or raw meat. Check package directions, serving utensils, dietary needs and oven batch timing ahead of time. This activity makes one small pizza snack per guest.
