Activity steps

  1. Make space and picture cues,Secure the gold fringe to a portrait wall and trim it clear of the floor and dance area. Clear a movement area and test one floor spot per guest for grip; remove any that slide. Set up an existing music player and a familiar playlist at a comfortable volume. Give everyone one cardstock sheet and share markers among six to draw a simple movement cue such as wave, reach or turn in place.
  2. Start with a shared rhythm,Give each guest an age-appropriate shaker. Copy a slow shake-and-pause pattern together, then invite volunteers to suggest a pattern. Everyone may clap or watch instead. Put the shakers outside the movement area when the warm-up ends.
  3. Follow the scarf leader,Give each guest a light scarf. Take turns leading a small wave, a rainbow arc or a seated hand gesture while everyone copies. Hold scarves loosely; never tie them to a person. Keep the gestures within each person’s space.
  4. Freeze together,Play a short section of music, pause it and show a picture cue for a group pose. Hold still for a moment and start again. Nobody is eliminated. Finish with a shared bow, then collect all props off the floor.

Offer quiet participation and seated movement throughout. For larger groups, run short turns with enough clear space and adult helpers rather than packing people tightly together.
