Group dance games
Create a few simple movement cues, build a short group sequence and finish with a music-pause round. Guests can move, join from a seat or host the cards.

Activity steps
- Make your movement cues,Hang a short arrangement of bright streamers behind the singing area with removable mounting tape. Keep ends clear of the floor and use normal room lighting. Use one bright card per guest and share a paper-marker assortment among six. Draw or write a simple cue: step-touch, shoulder roll, seated hand wave or statue pose. Put one floor spot per guest far enough apart for personal space, checking that the spots stay secure. Clear furniture and keep normal room lighting.
- Find a comfortable rhythm,Use an existing music device and a prepared, age-appropriate playlist. Start with a familiar chorus at a comfortable volume and invite a gentle hand tap, clap or shoulder rhythm. Guests can sit, listen or hold up the next cue; everyone chooses a comfortable range of movement.
- Build a short group sequence,Let a willing host choose two or three cue cards. Try the gestures together, repeating each for a few beats without judging anyone’s timing. Invite another guest to choose the next sequence. Keep small movements within each person’s space, with seated gestures available throughout.
- Try a music-pause finale,Play short music excerpts and pause them to invite a comfortable statue pose. Nobody is out when they move. Let guests choose whether to move, sit, hold the cue cards or pause the music. Finish with a favorite group sequence, switch off playback and collect the cards and floor spots.
Use short rounds, small movements and comfortable volume. Demonstrate a seated version of each cue. No special lighting, wearable props, dance skill or performance scoring is needed.
